If flying in to the 9th Ever Cameron Park Kitfox Fly-in and BBQ, Cameron Park Airport (O61) is located 11 nm on the 241° radial of the HNW (115.5) VOR.
For Runway 31, bass Lake is a common reporting point if planning a 45° entry to down wind.
The Runway is in a valley between two low hills. Both thresholds are elevated relative to the center of the runway, creating a bowl like effect. A Kitfox will float a little further than normal as the surface drops away.
Exits to the airport joint use street/taxiways are near both ends of the runway. There is also a taxiway on the East side of the runway that extends from about the midpoint of the runway to near the threshold of 31. Back taxiing is a common procedure.
Both the airpark taxiways pass through rolling gates that will open automatically to incoming aircraft. Taxi up to the gate and it will open. You will need to be accompanied to the gate as you depart, as a remote control device is needed to open the gates from the airpark side. These taxiways are connected by Boeing Rd. in the airpark. When in the airpark taxi on the right side of the yellow line.
The taxiway near the 31 threshold is continuous with Western. Taxi down Western and make the first right onto Bonanza, then the first left onto Aeronca.
